Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and grew up within Malibu, California. She was a performer for relatives and friends as a young child. At the age of eight when her mother registered her for her first acting school. Salenger played a small role as "a singer and dancer orphan" in John Huston's feature film Annie. Salenger played a variety of TV ads. Salenger had her first leading role in The Journey of Natty Gann which was a Disney movie that starred John Cusack with Ray Wise. The film was the first US film to receive the Gold Award at the Moscow Film Festival. Also, she took home "Best Female Actress in a drama" at the Youth in Film Awards in recognition of her role as the sexy Natty. At the age of 18, she was cast in another four films, one of which was A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. In the following years, she moved to Harvard in order to continue her education.
